Solicitor using personal search company

Hi, we know that our local authority search is taking place next week through a personal search company. This is the final search we are waiting on. How long will their part take? If everything else has taken place, how long do you think we're looking at before we move? The property is vacant and we have no chain.

It depends where the house is. We've just had our searches back after at least 8 weeks, and now we have to wait for our solicitor to look at them... But our county was in the news as one of the slowest, so hopefully yours will be quicker!

Oh no! How frustrating! I hate this Xmas deadline, will we be in or won't we?!

If it is booked in for next week the search should be back pretty quickly - back in my Conveyancing days it would be within 48hrs of the search being conducted but I guess it depends on the search company.

Thank you. I'm just hoping it all comes together pretty quickly after that.

I once had a personal search done and it was literally that day. But this was some time ago. Only your lawyer can answer the 'how long before we move in' question as searches are only part of the process..

Yes this is apparently all we are waiting on. She is not the most approachable person!!
