L shape loft conversation

I have a victoria terrace with a dormer loft conversion. This was completed circa 10 years ago and before I moved in. I would like to now make this an L shaped conversion using the loft space in the bathroom to make a small bathroom and dressing room.

Has anyone completed work like this? Is it even possible, especially as my house is mid terrace without side access?

TIA

Do you mean extending above an existing first floor rear extension? If so, yes it is possible, and apparently one of the cheapest ways to extend. Google “loft pod” and “extension over outrigger” (or go to your council’s planning explorer and do a keyword search). And yes, it can be done to a terrace house without side access. There are loads on my street and we’re currently applying to have one done too. Our architect thinks it’s unlikely that planning permission will be refused.

However, please note that depending on the height of your loft, and your council’s planning policy, you may end up having a few steps between the loft bedroom and the new en suite/dressing room. Often the outrigger extension is not allowed to be as high as the roof line of the loft.

Thanks Yellow.

That's exactly what I mean. I haven't even heard of pod lofts so I am off to websearch! possibly during the endless zoom meetings
