Long story short.... Thought I did my research when refitting my kitchen and bought an OTROLIG induction hob from Ikea, righ before lockdown 1. Progress has been reaaaaaally slow, so I have finally got to the point of installing said hob and find out IKEA don't sell it anymore.... I also find a lot of bad reviews from Australia? So now I am worried about installing it.....

Mine is still in packaging so can be returned, but

  1. don't know if I should... I swear Which had it as a good hob?
  2. what to get instead? Would like

what's your budget? most of the best buys are aeg/bosch and over £600, this one Zanussi ZIT6460CB was the highest rated around £300 - assume you want electric though?
Ikea Smaklig was a best buy induction

HidingFromDD · 09/11/2020 22:15

just seen it was induction - that ikea one was at 82%, but looks like it was a review from 2013!
AEG IKB64401FB is around £370 and scores 85% - reviewed 2019

I've got a hisense with flexible zone, power boost and 60cm. Just installed it and happy with it so far. It was about £250. I know hisense ovens are best buys on which, so it must be a decent make.

Thanks both! Yes, looking for an induction.

@Misty9 I hear flexible zone is really important.... have you used it yet?

Do you mean the part which can be two zones or one big oblong one? I cooked with my oblong casserole dish on it the other day and it was fine. I need to get used to things heating up quickly though - I can't walk off like I used to do when cooking!

John Lewis own brand has good reviews for all of your requirements. I think it may actually be AEG but with JL brand.

I need to buy a job too & would like flexi zone.

I have a neff hob and it seems really good so far

Nimello · 10/11/2020 21:04

I don't have Which now (I had a trial sub for a month for £1 precisely because I needed to buy a hob for a rental property) - but I bought, on their recommendation, a Bosch induction hob. It was the cheapest Bosch - around £300. I found one locally so unfortunately can't give you the model number. There were other 'best buys', but they were all out of my price range.

No idea whether it's any good, as I have an Aga at home and induction hobs are a mystery to me - but it looks nice and shiny, and I have had no complaints.

@Nimello - I was going to get the £1 trial, but can't find it.... was the one you got on the which site, or somewhere else?
