Buying a flat where we will own a share of the freehold.

Do I need a survey? All advice welcome . Thanks

Yes, can't see how being share of freehold would be any different from lease in terms of surveys. You still need to know what the issues might be and how much the repairs would cost - with the share you would split the cost for building issues but if it's something major, the neigbours may not be in a position to payand you'lk be stuck.
