Changing radiators in new(ish) build - pics included

We currently have radiators that are plumbed in from a central point in the wall using flexible pipes as the picture shows. But we would like to change them to column radiators. Obviously, with there being gaps in the columns, the flexible pipe exit would be visible and the pipes would be seen behind the radiator, so we would prefer the pipes to come out of the wall straight into the valves on either side )like in second picture). Has anyone had this done? Was it a big job? Were the same flexible pipes used and just hidden into walls or were new solid pipes installed? Or anyone who works as a plumber know the best way to do this?

I guess the other option is just to keep the visible flexi pipes but would this look odd with a column radiator? Grateful for sht photos if you have this...

Thank you

Keeping those god-awful flexi pipes would look shocking. Actually what the hell were the builders thinking using those there anyway? Wall will need hacking away and pipes channelled in to the width of the new column rad. Make sure you can securely fix the rad (V heavy) to the wall before starting...
