Fire hearth/dog pee - pics

The DC carved pumpkins on Wednesday, we put them on the fireplace hearth, the dog peed on one of the pumpkins Confused.

I noticed Friday that one of them was starting to collapse and had a 'puddle' in front of it. Removed all the pumpkins and now I'm left with this mark. Can anyone help or give advise of how I can get rid of this? I thought it might dry out over a few days but it's now Sunday so I'm not so sure.

TIA!

It depends what the hearth is made out of.

@Bunnybigears to be fair I'm not entirely sure, some sort of smooth stone, I know that's not helpful! A quick google suggests polished slate.

This happened to my friends harth last year, minus the dog pee, it’s never recovered or has she been able to fix it 😔

Thanks @ILoveYoga
Oh no @Pantsupyourbum DH is keen to spray paint it, maybe that will be the only option!

It’s like the acid eroded it or something, she just stuck a big candle thing over it

This is no help, but I can commiserate. We get adult rescues, so it can take a while for then to settle in and learn the new ways. We'd just gotten this one lovely old boy just before Christmas. We put the real tree up and he promptly "used" it!

@dudsville yup my dog loves a Christmas tree pee also!! He seems to go through phases, I think this was likely due to fireworks as we have had loads around here.

Thanks for your replies, so frustrating!
