Anyone used floorpops? Help me decide!

Floorpops are self adhesive viny tiles. I need a temporary floor for my kitchen (hoping to extend in a couple of years) as I have lived with the current asbestos suspected tiles for 3 years now (surveyor says they are not a risk but they look awful).

So I am tempted by cheap and cheerful vinyl. I am also tempted by a patterned floor. I'm not normally that adventurous but it's something I've always coverted. I'm thinking if I make a mistake, it's only temporary, right Grin.

Anyone any experience. And can anyone help me decide how wacky patterned to go?
I'm currently thinking the 'fontain' or 'sienna'. But it's quite a big kitchen and my sensible boring head it telling me it will be too much...help!

Oh. And I will be doing this by myself. Tomorrow preferably...Halloween Shock

Buy them, open and lay out the tiles from one box. Take the lot back and get something plainer if it's too much. DIY shops always take stuff like this back.

I used them in my bathroom. They're great bit yes lay them out.

Really good scissors or a Stanley knife and mat to cut. Clean your floor REALLY well before laying.

I'd be tempted to give it a go. I would expect sheet vinyl to be easier to keep clean, more waterproof and easier to remove though

maybe something like this

Watching with interest. I've been looking for vinyl times online and finding it hard

I’ve used them in our back porch. I’m not as keen as previous posters!

The patterns don’t quite match up on some tiles. You need to turn them to get the best match, but even so they don’t quite match.

They’re a swine to clean (mine have a cellulite-dimply-orange peel texture which is great for getting mud to stick...). It doesn’t help that I chose a pale colour on a white background when we live with Mud. (what was I thinking???).

A few of them didn’t have enough glue, so they didn’t stick well. I ended up buying vinyl floor adhesive.

If the floor your covering isn’t perfectly smooth they don’t sit quite right.

BUT... they’re cheap, they’re easy to cut to fit, (even round odd corners etc), they’re nice designs, it’s a good way to have a patterned floor without committing to encaustic tiles cost, and they seem surprisingly robust (I can pull the washer out without damaging them), so they should see you for a few years.

I got some from B&Q to cover my old manky kitchen vinyl. Love them. Quick and easy to apply.

Thanks everyone! I've been having trouble reply to threads but it seems to be working again.

@Murmurur I was worried sheet vinyl might be hard to put down nearly by myself. Plus I'd read that these tiles are more forgiving on a slightly unsmooth floor than cushioned vinyl. My floor isn't too bad but I know sheet vinyl shows every little bump.

I've ordered one box! They should be here tomorrow so if you're interested I'll pop up a photo.

@Saz12 I totally hear you and have read about the pattern matching. Also read about the white backgrounds so hoping the ones I've chosen won't be too bad. Anything has got to be better than what's down at the moment.

They've arrived! What do you think? I love them Halloween Grin. I've just placed them down straight out of box, so not matched up or stuck down. They really brighten up a dark room. Plus I love that they are so in your face. I feel I can be brave as they are a 'temporary fix'. If I still love them in 12 months I can be braver with my choices after the extension.

Love them. Great way to brighten up the room before you extend. Looking forward to seeing the finish room.
