Game: which house would you buy?

You can move up to 10 miles from home and money is no object.

Which house on Rightmove would you buy and what would you do to it?

I think I'd have this. I do like a rectory. New kitchen and a chintz amnesty required immediately. I might get rid of the balustrades up the front steps too.

This one. Its in the most beautiful position too.

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 29/10/2020 10:51

Sadly this one has already sold. Suppose I could gazzump. It has a moat!

@MrsBellamy that is gorgeous! That wins as far as I’m concerned. And it’s called Netherfield House, which just reminds me of Pride and Prejudice, I want to live in it for that alone! 😍😍😍

Gooseybby · 29/10/2020 10:58

@reefedsail i never even spotted the teasmade but im well up for that! #granny

TerpsichoreanMuse · 29/10/2020 11:17

I'd have this one. And live in the "small" detached house while letting the massive mansion out for a nice pension.

This one in Ripley (believe it or not) would do for me. www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-62491707.html

I hope I'd have enough cash left over for a gardener or ten!

My choice - beautiful!

SuperFairy · 29/10/2020 11:51

@bilbodog

Ooh that is stunning!
NoParticularPattern · 29/10/2020 11:58

I’d buy this www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/82330619 not because I like it nor is it fancy or even desirable really. But it is next door and would absolutely infuriate BIL beyond belief. Plus my endless pot of money would decorate that quite nicely. Oh and the bloke who owns it is about 95 with all manner of health problems so I expect that the adjoining land would come up at some point in the next decade too 😂

snowspider · 29/10/2020 11:58

I love the tunnel underground rooms in this

happinessischocolate · 29/10/2020 12:35

@reefedsail & @mnahmnah

It's lush isn't it, I think I'd even want the owners to leave their furniture too 😊

Id love waking up in the morning and look straight over the river 😍

reefedsail · 29/10/2020 12:53

@bilbodog

Yeah, I like this one and think it would actually be livable in!

No, no @snowspider, none of your tunnels. Way too creepy.

I live in a three bed town house and fantasise about buying next door and knocking through - I don't even know if you can knock through, they well insulated and noise proof so it might be to difficult. I live where we live though but would like a bigger garden and bedroom and living room so buying next door should be able to achieve that.

Pascha · 29/10/2020 14:26

I'm quite tempted by this, then I remind myself that the view would usually be much greyer than that.

NetballHoop · 29/10/2020 15:01

@custardbear that does look nice but I think I'd have to buy shares in Windolene if I lived there. Soooooo much glass.

custardbear · 29/10/2020 18:33

@NetballHoop - indeed! I'd struggle with the mortgage let alone window cleaners and cleaners to do the windows - so yep - windowlene could perhaps sponsor me and provide gifts in kind to use my lovely home in their adverts ... dream on custardBear lol - back in your cave 😆

mamaduckbone · 29/10/2020 22:15

I think I'd go for this one:

www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-73959060.html

for the modern style with countryside views.

FangsForTheMemory · 29/10/2020 22:31

This would do me. I’d really like a one-off Art Deco masterpiece but none available so I’ll make do. www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/94738280#/

OMG. I go past this road not knowing whether I want to look left or right because the houses are just...... I can't even!
