Question for a friend about negotiations

My friend wants to know if it is better to speak directly to the vendor about a reduction in the price based survey on her building survey. I think it is better to go through solicitors rather the vendor and the estate agent.

What would be your advice?

Solicitors and agent, that’s what you pay them for. We are currently selling our house and if we had an approach from our buyer about anything I would ask them to please direct it through our solicitors instead. As much as anything it’s more straightforward as they are the ones that have to process the transaction for you so need to know the ins and outs.
