What do you pay for factoring fees?

I'm in Scotland. So fees for maintenance of shared areas, doing the garden and all of that. Went to look at a flat and they want 150 quid a month which seems extortionate to me.

Our old flat was £40 a month for a 1 bed. We looked at some that ranged all the way between £30 and £160 a month.

From what I gather it depends massively between Factoring companies and also the size of the flat / the proportion of the building your flat makes up.

Thanks for replying. Yes I found out a nearby one is 90 a month for an older complex and not as nice. I never thought it would be that much.

Also Scotland, i pay £30 a month for maintenance of shared grounds, buildings insurance, outside lighting in private grounds, communal building maintenance (mainly only roof/guttering) and a small contribution to a "sinking fund" for when larger jobs need doing. Sometimes I'm in debt by a bit, other times my account is in Credit depending on what maintenance has been done. I would say though, that our factors are next to useless and it takes months, if not heats, before things get done.

We pay £130 every 4 months for our factor fees on a 2006 build flat in Edinburgh. Every so often we will get an additional bill but it’s usually if something has gone wrong with the roof of lighting.
