Shower in bath - when you are tall

We’re making the final decisions for our new bathroom. Need a bath with a shower over and was happily planning until I read a post on the current bathroom thread about the issues if you have tall dc. This bathroom is going to be for our 2 ds. The 13yo is already 5 ft 8 and we expect him to reach over 6ft like his dad.

So what is the solution? We were planning something like this but I don’t think ds will fit under it

Thanks

stick with a traditional single head shower on an adjustable pole and make sure you fit the pole high enough that the men can stand under it. I'm sure you can get different length of shower hose if you need one longer than standard but just over 6ft they should be fine. Those big shower heads are often very disappointing in terms of water pressure in my experience too.

Hello OP

I think I posted on that other thread....

My DS and OH are tall (6ft plus). I'm around 5' 8".

Our master/guest bathroom has a rainfall shower over the bath. Both DS and OH fit in it with loads of room to spare. I suppose that could be because we've got a Victorian house and the ceilings are very high.

With ours, the pole that leads up to the rainfall showerhead is adjustable, so it's possible to decrease/increase the gap between it and the top of the tallest person's head.

If you can, visit some showrooms that sell the type of setup you want & do some measuring.

Good luck!

Surely you can just install it higher on the wall? My DH is 6’3 and we have a shower in bath, we made sure he could stand under it when the plumbing and shower head was being installed.

Having said that, we have an angled shower head - I do think angled shower heads probably work slightly better than rainfall (straight down) heads for tall people as they don’t have to stand directly under them which could feel a bit cramped.

Our main bathroom has a low ceiling.

DH is 6'4" so we definitely couldn't do rainfall sadly.

Just have a standard over the bath single head.

I'm 6'7". I don't fit under showers. I'm used to it though. A slight duck to wash hair is fine. As others have said, fit the pole as high as you can and don't have a rainfall head
