Driveway gate beeping

We have a sliding gate across our driveway (at the back of the house).
It’s been stopping part way on closing recently and we’ve tried clearing the runners etc it’s not rectified the fault. It’s also beeping! Not constantly but every 20 seconds or so. It might emit one long beep or about 10 in a row, then be silent for 20 seconds, do one beep, then a short silence and then another 10 or so.
It’s flipping annoying as you can imagine.

Can anyone suggest a temporary fix while we wait for the engineer to come next week. I’ve taken the batteries out but it’s still beeping and I also tried new batteries but it still beeps.

Can you lock it open until the technician comes out? I had electric gates in my previous house. They were left locked open most of the time.

Thanks for the suggestion but no. We have a dog, hence having the gate to keep the back garden secure. But it beeps when it’s open too anyway.
