Anyone successfully painted a tile floor?

I’m looking to paint the floor in our utility room to cover up the orangey tiles that were laid by the previous owner. We’ve blown the budget on a new kitchen so trying our best to upcycle the utility.
Has anyone successfully painted floor tiles? Any paints to use/not use?

we did year ago and bit by bit it peeled would vinyl be an option if its not a big room you could probably get some from carpet right for under £50

Thanks @isseywith4vampirecats That’s what I feared. Would vinyl work over tiles, do you think?

Definitely just stick a piece of vinyl over the top - will be cheaper, last longer and look better.
Get vinyl which is cushioned ideally that will make the finish nicer and feel better underfoot.

yes vinyl will work fine if the tiles are quite bumpy you can put a thin layer of plyboard over the tiles before you put the vinyl down and as Goisey said get the thickest vinyl you can get for your money

Thank you both! I wasn’t relishing the idea of painting the floor so this is good news
