Would you consider renting in my situation?

Many weeks down the line in my house selling/ buying situation and my vendor has taken their house off the market due to health reasons this morning. We were working towards completion by mid November so searches and surveys have all been done. Myself and my partner are separating and, as I have less funds and need more space ( I have a child from a previous relationship as well as our two together) it was decided I would find somewhere first and he would buy close by. This house was a rare find in a good area with the space I need. What do I do now? There is not time to fibd another place and keep the chain together. We don't want to lose our buyer. Search for a rental and possibly give up the chance of no stamp duty and house prices getting out of my reach? Move into ex's new house which will be completing in december and wait for a house in the area for me that may never come? Talk to the ex about him backing out of his sale so I'm not tied to a tiny area for my house search? I really don't know what to do.

Sorry to hear: it must be really disappointing and worrying,.
If you want to sell your house & happy with price I’d continue and get it sold as 1st step. Maybe you will be lucky & complete somewhere before SD, maybe not... the SD is to prop up prices anyway so expect prices will drop after it ends so that wint make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things ..

I would, I think it would make the whole process less stressful. You could even move into an AirBnb for a month or two so you're not tied into a tenancy agreement. Put all your stuff in storage.
