What should I ask the agents before deciding on one?

It's all about the photos and responsiveness. I'm in Scotland and online agents like purple bricks have been dreadful as the fo not understand the Scottish system even though it's far more straightforward than England. I know people who have lost thousands using purple bricks because they reel you in by not paying much upfront but then if your house doesn't sell after a period of time the fees start coming. Those friends have sat on the market for years (3 to be precise) and because they are online they struggled to discuss a way forward. Very call-centre like service etc. They changed to a local agent then their house sold within a month!
