My mil has moved into a property 3weeks ago via the council shelter scheme, 3days after moving in we noticed after taking a shower the bathroom flooded as the water did not drain properly. She is elderly and ended up also having a fall due to this. They came out (on a Sunday) and told us the shower tray & tiles would need to be pulled out as the issue is underneath & also had on there record the previous tenant had the same issue (also verified by the neighbour of that property)
Problem is 3 weeks on and the issue still is not sorted and they keep giving us excuses.
They came in yesterday ‘done some work’ and left again without testing it as they stuck on tiles and said we can’t test anything as the grouting/sealant is wet.
I’m really frustrated as the situation is still the same from day 1 and hasn’t really been sorted! We’re going around in circles.
Also the tiles they’ve stuck on don’t match the bathroom tiles which were already on
Where can we go from here? Surely council can step in and do something if someone hasn’t got a working shower for that long
