Flooring for 3 bed house

Wondering if this quote sounds reasonable as I have nothing to compare it to. Keep being let down so this is the only quote I've managed to get so far.

£4,100 for flooring for an entire 3 bed house with 2 bathrooms, approx 90m2.

That's for Amtico luxury vinyl tiles throughout downstairs (45m2) and the 2 bathrooms. Carpet on the stairs, landing and bedrooms.

It includes all materials and fitting, and removing and replacing the skirting board.

Does that sound reasonable? Thank you in advance.

I think it does especially with all the skirting boards too. Will they be painted or just primed?

Thanks @JoJoSM2.

It's a new build and that quote is for the developer to do the flooring. So yes they will be painted but they would have been painted anyway even if I didn't get the flooring though them.

They have already fitted the skirting board though as I initially told them that I didn't want flooring through them, so they will have to remove it and replace it.

Sorry I didn't put that in the OP to keep it simple so hope that makes sense.

It would also mean that the flooring would all be done in time for completion rather than me having to sort it after. So possibly worth a bit extra for the convenience.

I think it sounds ok for the connivence.
Can you go to a flooring shop and price compare?
You could probably email them if you don't want to go in yourself?

JoJoSM2 · 20/10/2020 20:25

Amtico is pricey. Carpet varies but either way the price seems ok as it works out at about £45 per m2 incl stairs. I agree that it’d be best to ask for a quote elsewhere to compare.

We paid £800 for karndean (similar price to amtico I believe) in the kitchen diner, supply and fit, nothing wrt floor boards. So if you assume 400/500 per room, that quote sounds pretty reasonable to me. For what it's worth, I'm NW England and things are a bit cheaper here than SW for example

Thanks all. I have contacted so many people to get a quote. They either haven't got back to me at all or have made promises to arrange measuring up and then let me down. Not sure I can be bothered with it anymore!

I'm glad that they have plenty of work in the current situation but surely they could just be polite and say they are too busy 🤷‍♀️
