A few pictures of our kitchen attached. House is about 115 years old, not sure how old the kitchen is. Not original obviously but the tiles on the floor and wall are pretty old and we really like them. Not everyone's taste but they our to ours!

But the wooden cupboards and surfaces are awful. Old, badly maintained, grubby and the cupboards don't have proper backs. Also big, filthy gaps down side of oven. All this is as was when we bought it 2.5 years ago.

We (well me actually, DH is slowly coming round) want to have the cupboards, tops, oven and two windows replaced but keep all the tiles.maybe get some additional shelving too.

Any recommendations for a company that would do a good job of installing these new bits sympathetically within the bits we like? We are in Kent so if any local recs even better.

No suggestions, but that is a lovely kitchen and I would want to keep those tiles too.

If the carcases are OK, then a local carpenter to redo the doors and tops? You could then paint them.

I did the same thing and had a new kitchen fitted around the exsisting tiles. It wasn't a problem at all. I just got recommendations from my local facebook group for local kitchen fitter. He pointed me in the right direction for local kitchen suppliers. After i picked one he ordered all the bits and fitted it. It wasn't an issue or difficult to do. They can make all sorts of adjustments to the units to get it to fit in perfectly.

One issue can be electrics, do you want extra sockets etc? Our kitchen had an incomplete ring main, total fire hazard and required a rewire, so get an electrical check first.

Kitchen units just stand on the floor so nothing would happen to the tiles. The fridge looks badly positioned and there’s very little storage so I’d go for it.
