Thinking about pulling out

So we’re in the process of selling and buying and in a chain of roughly five properties. The house that we’re selling is due to have the survey soon but all the conveyancing has been done and pending the survey, it’s ready to exchange. The house we’re buying we had the offer accepted over ten weeks ago and this is where the issue is. The vendors instructed an online solicitor against the advice of the estate agents who have been absolutely dismal. Nothing has happened, just nothing. No draft contract has been issued, we’ve not received any of the property forms, fixtures and fittings etc. I’ve been chasing the estate agent who said on Tuesday that the forms were going to be issued in the next 24 hours but it hasn’t happened. I’ve gone back to the estate agent but I’m beginning to wonder how much longer we can continue doing this for. If we pull out, there is no guarantee of finding another suitable house and it’s a bit of a hot spot area but I just can’t see any progress happening. I really don’t know how to proceed 🙁

Tell them you want x doing by x or you are pulling out.

After 10 weeks you should be almost exchanging and completing!

Is ten weeks along time ?
Our current house , we paid cash ( then sold ours after ) and the house was empty, sellers had moved to New Zealand.
So all that needed doing was the searches , the legal stuff and money transfer ( no surveys ) and it took 13 weeks,
We weren’t in any hurry but I thought that was about normal ?

@churleymouse-I think the issue is that none of the legal work etc has even started as my solicitors hadn’t received the draft contract.

Got an update today to state that the forms have finally been sent to my solicitor. It only took ten chuffing weeks to get to that point 😡

Think you need to say if you haven't exchanged by x date you will have to pull out to find a new property. Hopefully then the vendor or agents will start nagging and ringing solicitors. We sort of had this issue and once we said we might pull out due to delays - the agents started ringing the solicitor and vendor daily...
