Should ( fingers crossed) be moving into a 1960s house in the next month or two. The house has been cared for, so is in decent condition, but it is very dated with the original kitchen, bathroom and boiler.
I have a budget to update it and replace the kitchen, bathroom, boiler, windows etc and hopefully even make a bit of a profit. But I need to get it right, by which I mean doing everything in the right order, not having to redo things and not wasting money unnecessarily. It's much more than I have ever tackled before and it feels a bit overwhelming.
Wondered if anyone knows of any useful books to buy or blogs to look at? Not so much about design as I have a fairly good idea about how I want it to eventually look (although I'm open to new ideas), but more about the practicalities - e.g fo I rewire before or after putting in new heating? Can I get the house rewired before I've finalised the new kitchen layout? That sort of thing.
Thanks.
