Door canopy

Has anyone had a new door canopy installed? I’m struggling to find somewhere that looks reliable and we’ll know to supply one. Any suggestions?

do you mean a wooden one with tiles to match the roof? A local carpenter can make one. You can buy them ready-made from various joinery firms, including some on ebay.

usually some hundreds, varying with size, complexity and quality of timber. I'd want a professional roofer or leadworker to do the tiling and especially the flashing, which will cost extra. Without lead flashing you can expect damp patches on the wall.

Sticky tape is no substitute.

You will need gutters and downpipe.

You can also buy plastic or bent metal ones, if you like that sort of thing.

@PigletJohn yes that’s what I mean, thank you.
Seen some on eBay but I am a bit wary of buying off random company’s so wondered if there was a well known place to buy from.

there will be a local joinery workshop near you, I bet. Not in the High Street, but down some back alley or on an industrial estate perhaps. Some of them cater for restoration and reproduction in stately homes and pitch their prices accordingly.

The manufacture is really simple when you have machine tools and a standard diagram.

near me is a local college that trains young joiners, so the streets are littered with them looking for work. Other districts may be different.
