House has been up nearly a week and no interest yet, is this normal? Does it usually take longer to get viewings?

It does not bode Well - usually 1st Saturday is the bulk of viewings

Is your property unusual/in need of work/lacking outside space/expensive for what it is to explain lack of current interest...

KoalaRabbit · 10/10/2020 17:05

Ours had 4 viewings first week, 3 second, 3 third and 0 last week - some houses are getting much higher viewings with big gardens, 3 double bedrooms and good condition and first two weeks are very important.

I would say its not normal - possibly overpriced unless photos and description are very bad - though the market by us is quietening with nothing new coming on and less people looking. Two similar to ours sold last week though. I have seen one come on by us with no floorplan, 1 para of waffle and 7 photos. If I was borderline on that house I might not view - I have no idea of its size or room dimensions.

If you post a link people might be able to say what they think.

Is it a normal estate agents, sometimes online ones people have trouble booking viewings.

CoronaIsWatching · 10/10/2020 17:20

Post a Rightmove link and let us critique it.

Oneandzero · 10/10/2020 17:21

That is NOT a good sign at all. Even in current climate.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 10/10/2020 17:23

Not a good sign. Are the agents actively looking to book people in? Mine was ringing round the people on their books the second I returned the contract. It had viewings before the board/rightmove even went up because on the agents.

If you post a Rightmove link you will get loads of helpful tips :)

Actually I say nearly a week it was wednesday afternoon when it went up, is that still bad??

That's only 3 days then so not as bad.

Are you sure you've had no viewings? Our EA just didn't tell us about viewings though I guess if you've been there all the time you would know but if you've been out working etc maybe give EA a call and ask if you've had viewings. We called after a week thinking no viewings and been told there were 4.

Hopefully will be some early next week, if there's none still by end of Wed (call EA to check if not there) then I'ld be somewhat concerned. I think our 4 were spread across the week so probably 2 in your timescale so far.

Jyst put a bloody link up. Go on.

Bluntness100 · 10/10/2020 20:16

Yes, that’s concerning, it should attract the most interest when it first goes on. The fact No one is interested generally indicates it’s price. Unless you live in the outer Hebrides or something.

If youve had no interest by next week see if you can take it off and change agents as they are clearly doing nothing for you (even if not advising you well on price and sorting a good listing)
KoalaRabbit · 10/10/2020 20:52

Despairing Not sure if that comment is for me or OP. If its for me EA has taken more photos though himself and he forgot to turn on lights and we are putting a price reduction through. He's faffing about putting it up and we are meeting another agent next week. I've insisted on a bigger reduction than EA wanted. Two houses in our street sold this week though so not completely dead and nothing come on. New photos are better except for lack of lights on.
