New kitchen unit colours

We are planning a new kitchen and going for a handless (hopefully clean and sleek look)

However it is a family kitchen so we want it to be inviting.

I was planning on going for two tones Matt light grey for all units and dark grey for the island. With contrasting work top i think it's granite or quartz Sparkly white for the island and a darker grey for the worktops.

BUT I'm so worried that it's dated as grey is out as a trend?

If we went with white I can't decide what contrast colour to have and don't want to go with green or navy as it limits the colours we can mix with it.

Any suggestions

The island will be graphite and units light grey

There's a similar conversation going on around grey kitchens on another thread. But I'd say if you're picking grey because it's currently trendy - probably not the best idea. If it's because you love the grey and plan on living in this house for a long time - who cares if it's trendy or not

With what you're planning, I'd incorporate some natural wood and green plants to make sure it's still warm and inviting
