Cost of decorating

We have had an extension built and it needs painting. I have had 3 quotes, two at just under £3k and one at £1050 all excluding materials. They are all for an area of approx 100m2 (4 rooms) including a vaulted ceiling and skirting boards and architrave.

Obviously I would like to go for the cheap quote but would this be a false economy? What do other people typically pay for this area of painting? All quotes include a mist coat for new plaster and 2 top coats.

We paid £6k for roughly double what you're having painted. Had 3 quotes all roughly same ballpark.

Thanks dinosauraddict. It looks like the more expensive quotes are about right then. Just so tempted to go for the cheaper one as all the costs are mounting at the end of extending.
