Hi. We are thinking about getting a gas stove installed in our fireplace and looking for advice, idea of cost and pros and cons. Pictures would be great. I know we will need to have it checked every year and the chimney swept every year as well. We currently have a cheap electric fire and surround in front of the chimney. The chimney is open as behind the fireplace it is boarded.
Originally when we bought the house I had ideas of putting a wood burning stove there but we don't really have the room to store logs and worried about environmental factors.
The house is just a three bed semi but wanted to make the living room more cozy. Also, I know wood burners can heat through yo the upstairs, is this the same for gas? Sorry, I'm a bit clueless on this!
