Moving to Farnborough

Hello,

we would like to move out of London so we have been viewing many properties in different places.
We very much liked a house in Farnborough, in High Street just very close to St Mark’s COfE Primary school.
As we thinking of placing an offer, I will very grateful if someone who lives/lived there can share their thoughts about the area? How safe is it? How are people there? Is it a good place for family life with little kids?
Any advice is welcome.

We have visited Farnborough a few times and did like the peaceful and quite atmosphere. We are not really into shopping neither commuting to London is very important.
So did I have correct impression with the town? Is the area of North Camp around High Street good and safe place?

Its okay - but I wouldn't describe Farnborough as peaceful and quiet. But my DD did have cheaper car insurance when she lived there.

It’s ok, there is lots to do with children and Train links obviously very good if you need to commute in to London, however there are probably slightly nicer areas ie hawley, yateley and eversley (and a bit more countrysidey if that’s important to you) Although then it would obviously be a short drive to the station!
But farnborough I think is fairly safe as it goes!

Thank you for your answers.

What is your opinion of Cove, Trunk Road Area?

We live about ten minutes from Farnborough although not on the Cove/Minley side , the town centre has got nicer over the last five years - I always used to go to Guildford but not so much these days ! Farnborough is fine, we have never experienced crime where we live, but the secondary schools are not very good - you’d be much better off in Frimley or Fleet if it’s a long term move.

I used to live in cove road fleet and that was nice. really the whole Farnborough and fleet areas are nice enough. Farnborough would be best if you regularly need to be in London otherwise you cant go much wrong so long as you stay north of "North Camp". I don't know much about schools though in the area but there is plenty to do.
