Home insurance for under a week?!

Due to get keys to rental property tomorrow and hand over keys to this place next week. My current home insurance (B&C) expires next week. So I'm not sure what to do, will I need to get some kind of interim cover for this place until we've completed on the sale? It would be less than a week so not sure what to do!

Thanks.

Phone your current provider and ask them to extend by the time you need, mine did it for me

Many policies have a cooling off period of 14 days during which you can cancel. You may have to pay an administrative fee if you cancel later than 48 hours after taking out the policy but it's not a lot compared to paying for a year's worth.

This is what we did recently when we needed an extra 10 days policy after our renewal date and before we combined households so no longer needed separate insurance.

Oh good idea, I'll phone up and ask if they can extend for a short while only, will see what the options are.

I'm wondering if I should get our new insurance for our rental from tomorrow, even though we're not actually moving in then? I guess that would be sensible in case something happens? Thanks.
