Where to live in or near Oxford?

DH and I are thinking of moving to the Oxford area but don't know where to start... Can anyone suggest nice places to live - we'd ideally like small town with good eating/drinking places, things going on for children, train or bus link to central oxford and countryside nearby for dog walking.

Any ideas? Thanks!

We live in the north of the county in Bicester and DH commutes to Oxford every day. It's an 'ok' town but is going to get a facelift soon (they're going to redevelop the town centre) so it should improve . We'd prefer to live in a village, but house prices being what they are, we're staying where we are for now.

I lived in the area for ages, before children. Have a look at
Chipping Norton (north of Oxford)
Abingdon (south)
Wallingford (south)
