Any success stories of painting front path?

We are struggling to get anyone to pave our front path (currently concrete with a couple of breaks) and I'm thinking of just giving up for a couple of years and just painting to hide the worst. Is this a terrible idea??

Have you thought of colours? I've seen some great stencils on the Housetalk group but our concrete is too rough
