Moving to and buying around Bath

Hi all, DH and I have just decided to pack our things, sell our house in west London and move to Bath- specifically one of the surrounding villages as we want to have some countryside around us. Just wanted to have opinions of nice/small villages with a good small Primary school for our DS. Our budget is around 425K and we need 4 bedrooms... My BIL is living in Dunkerton and has helped with some suggestions but we haven't really find the place. We love Faulkland, Beckington and Norton St. Phillip but a little too pricey in terms of properties. TIA for your help

Have you looked at Saltford?

Wellow is lovely also. Might be too pricey though.

Thank you everyone. Wellow is lovely but there is nothing in our price range. Would prefer South (closest to BIL) but happy to look in North Bath if you have suggestions. Will look into Salford. Sorry that I answered all in same message I'm still finding my way around this forum TIA

Have you considered Keynsham?
Midway between Bristol and Bath with buses and trains to both. Also a bus service to the airport.

There's several primary schools and a couple secondary schools too.

What transport links do you need? There's plenty of options sw of bath but won't be on train lines as the prices shoot up in those places.

Make sure you're looking at Saltford, not Salford. Grin

South of Bath, Limpley Stoke and Freshford are lovely, and I've heard good things about Rode although I don't have any personal knowledge of it. Not sure what the schools are like in those villages, though.

House prices are lower in Bradford-on-Avon so that might be another option for you—it's a town rather than a village, though.
