Loosing buyers

Please make me feel better :(

Just lost our second buyer over the weekend with no explanation. Has this happened to anyone else? It feels like bad luck. Is this normal to loose 2 buyers far into the process?

Thank you in advance

Oh that's horrible - we lost one quite early on and I was really upset. Fingers crossed another comes along quickly.

We're now on our third buyer. It's an absolute nightmare and I wish we had a system like Scotland that gives us a bit more security. We've decided if this one pulls out too we'll take the house off the market and try again next year. Our estate agent told us lots of sales are falling through at the moment because banks are being so strict with lending.

@JanQi I'm sorry to hear of this too. It's just a shitshow. We need to move so desperately. I'm emotionally drained :'(

What was the reason you lost buyers? I've been trying to buy for some time and always get gazumped. I dont offer low however the seller seems to go for money rather than buying position and then the sale falls through.

@Sitdowncupoftea no explanation both times. ☹️

@dizzyness You probably already have but tell EA unless buyers have a MIP and are in the position to proceed you don't want viewers. There are lots of time wasters at the moment. In infuriating to other genuine buyers as well as sellers.

The weird thing is is that it's not just putting in a offer and then pulling out. It's months into the process both times. It's incredibly stressful and emotionally unsetting. It cost us over 1000 last time. Where we live now is incredibly unsuitable and is having a big impact on the quality of our lives. Our EA can't understand it either. The bad luck of it all. Just wondering is this is normal. I don't know anyone personal that this has happened too....admittedly not in a pandemic but.

Thsts just awful, OP.

At what point are the buyers pulling out? Surely the EA can find out the reason?

Is it Covid related? A friend has lost two buyers, both first time. The first had offered pre-lockdown & then got furloughed and the banks said no. And the second, the husband lost his job due to Covid. So shit for all involved.
