Dishwasher going bonkers

Yesterday afternoon my dishwasher seemed to be taking an inordinately long time to finish the cycle. I checked and the contents were clean and dry but the machine was still swooshing away. It hasn't stopped even though switched off. Has anyone had this happen to their machine? Thank you.

Ours occasionally has weird phases. The instruction booklet should tell you how to reset the programmes.

Thank you. I switched it off at the wall for about 2 hours and its sunny nature has reappeared!

We've had that when there is a leak in the bottom of the dishwasher (internally, not out of the dishwasher itself). Ours needed repairing, though some people manage to get them to dry out and get going again.

TheSmallAssassin. Whoops! I shall keep an eye out for that. Many thanks
