Dividing garden

Has anyone sectioned off their garden? If so, what did you create the divide with? We have a split level garden (patio outside the back door, with a few steps up to the lawn) and would like to add some sort of barrier along the edge of the lawn to keep the dog off.
Ideally looking for something that we can do on a very low budget and a DIY job!

I probably wouldn’t want a fence as presumably that would be all you’d see from the inside given the difference in levels.

So I’d go with some clever planting. Hedging springs to mind but I’d look for some inspo to create sth functional but also attractive to look at.

Fab, thank you

Hedging won’t keep many dogs off, they usually go through it.

I think it it’s to stop a dog then it’s a fence or a wall op. A fence is the cheapest option,

I have trellis to section off the greenhouse and veg plot. 6 foot high, it kept the kids away from the greenhouse, and now they are older it is great to grow tomatoes, beans, pumpkins and peas up. The summer veg also hides the greenhouse from the house - so it depends whether you like the look of your dog or not whether you would also go this route!

Maybe a fence with planting to cover it up a bit? I just really wouldn’t want to stare at a fence 5m from the window...
