Top box over fridge /freezer ? New kitchen help

I’ve got a 2 m wall left to fit in my kitchen refurb . I’ve got 2 stand alone fridge freezers (700mm w and 1850 high each) and a 600mm wide larder unit . Ceiling height is 2300

My builder says I should buy some top boxes And plinth to “ box in “ the fridge freezers and being the wall together.
I worry what I’ll put in them as I’m pretty short and they’ll become cupboards filled with doom and random crap .
Can anyone share their pics if they have top boxes and do you use them ? Have to do my second DIY kitchens order on Monday - Luca Matt white . Thanks

I'd put things like spare ice cube trays in them or extra tupperware. Things that don't get used much. Or leave them empty! There's no rule saying you must fill them with crap. They're there as an option.

That is our medicine cabinet as DC could not reach when little.

We have an American style fridge / freezer, the stuff thats kept in the cupboard over it are a stash of candles that I should really rehomeBlush, lightbulbs, batteries. Basically random stuff that you need but not stuff you need daily.

Ive also seen those areas used as a wine rack. Which is something I'd consider if i was to revamp the kitchen.

I have a similar set up but smaller gap. I keep tin foil, sandwich bags etc up there. I can't reach it, but I'm pretty short (5ft 0) and can't reach the top shelf in any of my cupboards, so I have a little fold down step.

I keep all the birthday/christmas/Halloween party paraphernalia in the space above my fridge freezer. Plastic cups, plates, napkins, banners, table decorations etc. Handy, but out of the way so I can forget about it for the other 360 days a year

I use it for the kitchen gadgets I only use once in a blue moon. Ice cream maker, popcorn maker etc.

We've got kallax cubes with our helmets in, when kitchen, finally, gets redone I'll extend them so we can have gloves/waterproofs and hats/scarves in cubes up there too.

We've a top cupboard over our American fridge freezer, it holds big bottles of pop.

It’s not ideal for wine as the fridge gives off heat.

We use ours for big stuff that won’t fit anywhere else - so my huge saucepan for batch cooking, big serving bowls, large trays and carving board. If we had other big stuff like a breadmaker, ice cream maker, food processor, bread cloche, cake carrier, it would live there. Confiscated toys go up there...

I’m short and have a series of folding steps to reach various bits of the kitchen!
