Log burner (well multi fuel stove) needs to be serviced. Any ideas on approximate cost of this?

Get a chimney sweep in. They will clean the stove, check and advise if there are any problems, and clean the chimney as well. This should be all done annually for insurance purposes - your sweep will give you a certificate which you would need if you ever had a chimney fire and had to claim. Our stove always looks like new after the sweep has been. We pay around £50, but it varies a lot by region.

Thanks - I'd not thought about trying a chimney sweep (we did have it swept before installation). I've been on HETAS site to look for an service guy, but just checked and there are chimney sweeps on there too....

@Reedwarbler, thanks. I've spoken to and booked a local chimney sweep. He will sweep chimney and inspect and clean stove, £78. Thanks for the advice.
