Checking electrics

How many people get the electrics checked in a house you've just bought, if there are no obvious issues and modern looking sockets/fuse box? As in, professionally checked.

We did before moving in. Turns out in spite of beautiful sockets and a modern consumer unit, the wiring was 1960s. We are having the whole place rewired now as it's a forever home.

I don’t. I check there’s an rcd in the consumer unit and if there is fine, if not call an electrician

I always do.

Now some of the kitchen is out, it does look like some of the electrics are pretty ancient...so I'll probably have to get them checked. Now to find a decent reliable electrician...
