Just that really - anyone used strike estate agents? We're in Manchester. Looking at both local and online estate agents and Strikes operating seems a bit different?

An interesting house is for sale with them in my area. They describe the 3rd bedroom as a good size single when it's less than 50 feet square...

Just rung Strike for a simple question, as they didn't respond to the enquiry form I sent, the first person to answer the phone talked over me, then insisted I give them my name and postcode, even though I'm not selling anything yet, put me through to someone apparently on the enquiry line who also couldn't answer my question. I've decided I'd rather spend the money on a proper estate agent than be treated like the nuisance I appeared to be to them. Thanks to everyone who posted before me, your tales of your experiences opened my eyes.

I would definitely not use Purple Bricks again. You save money with online agents only if the market is extremely hot and you're confident of selling your property. After you've paid upfront (not if you use their conveyancers which is another don't), they don't do anything at all and you just have to rely on the ad. Also their ID check costs £60 and is more laborious than ordinary agents, you have to have a key box as their agents won't carry keys. All in all a pita and then there's the point that potential buyers are put off if they see the property's with them.
