New Shed

I've just had a new shed and it has been treated with a water based preservative. I was told by the supplier to treat it now with an oil base preservative. Do I have to? And if I do can I still use something like the cuprinol garden shades after that or will the oil prevent the paint from sticking?

I would just go with the cuprinol.

But you need to redo it every couple of years to keep it looking good but it's so easy to paint I re-did half a 10 x 8 shed (all I could get to) in about an hour.

Cuprinol, I do two coats every summer to keep it watertight and looking nice!

I got 3/4 of ours done in lock down then ran out of it. Must make time to do the rest. I also painted a room, shelves and both doors several times. The new one got four coats. Just waiting for it to be hung. The joiner started back to work then had a bad accident off scaffolding.
Surprising what lockdown acheived.

What colour are you doing it?

I picked up Willow and country cream in the cuprinol garden shades today.
Trying to find a nice light-ish colour for the fences now. 5 litre tins are like gold dust!

Great combination - that's what I have, mainly green with cream 'trim'

I did the whole of the inside with Jasmine (lightest colour I could get as they stopped doing snowdrop white) which makes it much brighter and clean looking - even if has only got gardening stuff in there!

@WhoWouldHaveThoughtThat Great minds! I was saying to my OH that I want to paint the inside too. We're attacking the outside tomorrow while our eldest is at nursery. I can't wait!
