Adding a full length dormer to an already converted loft

Anyone had this done at a later stage than the loft conversion?

We have two attic room adjoining with slanted roof and velux window in each. We want to turn one of the rooms into a shower room (plumbing fine), but would need to add a full width dormer to it. Then we figured we may as well add a full length along the lot.

It's probably about 6 m along. I've no idea what to expect when start getting quotes so wondered if anyone on here had added a longer dormer onto an existing loft conversion.

You need a structural engineer to look at the roof as you will be removing a large section that is currently holding your roof together. I'm sure it's do-able just have to see how much you'll have to spend.
