We have 4 linked smoke alarms, how easy will it be?.

Hah. Mine go off intermittently and in sequence, the batteries run out really early and some we have had to take out entirely. I hate them.

We have however replaced some and they seem to work but our problems are our dodgy old wiring I think.

Our low battery beep keeps going off so we want 10 year ones this time but there’s so many to choose from.

You know that the low battery is always followed up with the full on going off right? Normally at 2 in the morning for us Hmm I would just get on and replace. Ours are supposed to have long life batteries in btw and we have replaced them twice already. Having been in the house 2.5 years.

Mine are very straight forward - just slide the alarm off it's fixing and unplug the cable. only problem I had was making sure I got the a replacement with the correct connector.

We've got 2 hardwired linked smoke alarms (one upstairs and one downstairs) and are just adding a third one due to our electricians recommendations (heat and carbon monoxide detection in the kitchen near the boiler/fuse board). They now recommend radio transmitters between them rather than cabling and it is really easy to do apparently. It's costing us about 250 to add one and change one

I am interested in this. We have 3 sd one on each floor. They were put in about 10 years ago. One went off with that awful tweeting 2 years ago possibly due to a new updated electric oven being put in so a heat alarm had to be put in and all the batteries had to be changed in all 3.Does this seem correct and safe?
