Red Lodge, Suffolk Review

Me and my husband are currently looking to buy a house in Red Lodge, Bury St Edmund's. The houses & the areas we've been in seem lovely. However we've heard some negative comments about the place. Could someone who's living in Red Lodge or around it give us an idea of how the area is? We do love going out for walks and socialising.

Hi SamanthaJude,

Thanks for posting - we're not privy to any insider info about this area but we would suggest you post in Local as you're more likely to get responses from those in that area.

We wish you all the best with your new home.

We have friends who've lived in Red Lodge for about 20 years and they're very happy there. From what they've said it's a nice place to live and well placed for travel with work.

There's definitely lots of lovely places to walk nearby. Red Lodge is basically a massive new estate. I grew up very nearby and I wouldn't live there, other local villages have a lot more character.

I think people living there are a mix of young families, renters and Americans working on one of the USAF bases.

Where are you moving from and where will you be working? The houses do look very nice and there's a few shops etc and a school, but I'd look at one of the other villages if you can.
