Dulux trade diamond

We are about to paint our new kitchen extension white. I had bought some dulux trade supermatt as I like a matt finish however our decorator has said dulux diamond matt is much more durable for a kitchen and still matt.

Has anyone used it? Some of the reviews online say it is quite shiny and hard to get a good finish so I am not sure.

Supermatt is completely unsuitable for a kitchen. It is the stuff that they use to seal new plaster because it doesn’t contain any vinyl, but this means it is not wipeable. It’s usually used as a mist coat and on ceilings.

Dulux Trade Durable Flat Matt might be more suitable.

I've just used the Dulux trade diamond Matt, it was really good and isn't at all shiny. I used Wickes' own brand bare plaster paint for the mist coat as it was only £16 for 10 litres and save a lot of diluting hassle. I shopped through the Dulux decorator centre online for the Dulux as it was the only place I could get anything!

Hi, I’m in a new build and had the whole house painted in that colour (much to the annoyance of them as it cost them a small fortune In paint Grin). It’s amazing especially in the kitchen, it goes lovely on the walls! We bought a few tins when it was on offer last year to touch up places after having work carried out (2 years in). I find it’s a good Matt paint personally but choose whatever you feel is best for your house Smile

You definitely need a durable paint for a kitchen

Thanks all you have convinced me. Will use the supermatt as the wash coat
