Hi Everyone,

Please help us with your recommendation. We are moving to Reading (Winnersh) and we are looking for a good and peaceful neighbourhood around Winnersh. We have a 3year old and would want a good decent neighbourhood and good school around as well.

Thanks in advance.

Earley and parts of Lower Earley are nice and lots of good schools in both areas.

Wokingham is a little further out from Winnersh, but has better shops, excellent schools and lovely parks. Its only one stop further out from reading on the train though.

I would also look at Woodley.

I live in Sindlesham, which is next to Winnersh.

Winnersh is located within Wokingham Borough, not Reading. Wokingham Borough also encompasses Lower Earley, Wokingham Town, Arborfield, Barkham, Finchampstead, Woodley, Twyford and some others.

All areas are nice and Wokingham has good schools, who mostly perform above the national average, DS is four so we've been looking and he starts school next week. There is a train line from Reading to Wokingham which goes further on and stops at Winnersh and a business park called Winnersh Triangle.

Wokingham and Woodley have the most shops, cafes etc but everywhere is well served by road and buses. Traffic in winnersh can be bad but they are building a relief road.

Woosehill is a very residential area between Wokingham and Winnersh, and there are plenty of houses in Winnersh itself. Finchampstead is further away by car from Winnersh but again very residential and desirable. There's a variety of houses in Lower Earley and there is a very large ASDA. Earley falls under Reading Borough so know less about there.

Wherever you choose you won't be far from Winnersh.

Thanks to each one of you for your inputs, I appreciate It 😊

@CoffeeandKitKat thanks a lot for a detailed explanation.

Also, I looked for rental properties on Rightmove and Zoopla. However, they seem to have very less options. Is there any other app or agents that I should be looking at for more options?

Pretty much everything gets listed on Rightmove. If there are very few places, it’s usuallt because the area isn’t very built up or it’s an owner-occupied family area and not many rentals exist.
