For those who did lift conversions, are there any ways to reduce the noise of rain falling on loft window?

No. But I love it!

I loved the sound! Miss it so much

Is it a Velux? They do external shutters and covers that can reduce noise.

No. How much does it cost approximately?

If it’s not a Velux I’m not sure this will be much help but here you go. You need the window size which you find on the side of the opening.

If it is low enough to reach, I suppose you could get someone to make a padded wooden shutter.

But you will get used to the sound and it will send you to sleep.

Whhhhhhy would you want to lessen the sound of rain on a window?! I go to bed early if it's raining to listen to it!

Another who loves the sound of rain on a window - it’s ASMR for me.

Recently moved and my new bedroom has boring normal windows. I miss my Velux :(

Triple glazing.

Why would you want to? It's one of the loveliest sounds there are!

I'm not so sure about the lovely noise. We have two veluxes in our kitchen and the noise from heavy rain is very loud. The noise from a hailstorm you can't even talk over. There is a lot of difference between rain pattering gently on a vertical window and a power shower effect on a horizontal surface.

Where I grew up there were lots of places with corrugated iron roofs; there were also hail storms regularly - and the noise inside was so loud you couldn't heard each other unless you really shouted! I absolutely loved it...

Now I have 3 Veluxes in my bedroom, and like pp I love the sound of rain on it - so soothing...
