Soundproofing walls

Hi. Has anyone had soundproofing on their walls? If so may I be cheeky and ask how much it cost and did it reduce noise volume much? I have really noisy neighbours. They are lovely and I don't think they realise how loud they are. Most of the time it is just loud music or TV but it's preventing my DS from sleeping now and they don't quiet down until around 10:30 at night. I have spoken with them and they become mindful for a few days then it just ramps up again.

Years ago we had deaf neighbours, we could watch TV with our sound off their tv was so loud. We spent a fortune (can’t remember the figures but it was a struggle) knocking the plaster off, having insulating plasterboard put on & then re plastered. It made no difference, sound can also travel through joists, not just walls.
We moved.
