Painting granite counter top

I am hoping to paint a small granite countertop in our bathroom, it is currently black gloss and shows all the watermarks. It doesn’t have to last forever as we will get our bathroom refurbished once life is fully back to normal. But it needs to be waterproof and reasonably durable...

It could actually be marble, not sure, all I know is it is super glossy. I will sand it down and apply a primer and but what sort of paint should I use? Does it then need some kind of sealant? TIA!

Is it solid stone or a plastic laminate stone effect? If stone it may not take paint well. You can get a range of stone protectors and cleaners from Lithofin, they will advise on which product to help with your water mark problem.
