How would you arrange this space?

We're converting our garage and it's north facing so will be quite dark at the back (2.5m x 5m). We are hoping to be able to afford Velux windows in the roof for light.

We have a 3 seater sofa and 2 big armchairs (1.5 seaters almost/cuddler chairs). I'm worried about the TV being too close right in front of us if we put the 3 seater along the long side. Does anyone have similar dimensions or suggestions how it could work? (Taking into account possible light reflecting off TV from window at front etc).

I’d use it for sth else, eg kitchen/study/playroom and part utility etc. I think 2.5m is too narrow for large furniture or TV.

Have you got a bedroom of a similar width? You could hold up a TV against one wall and see how you feel sitting so close to it.

It sounds like you need more compact furniture. I dont think you can comfortably fit 2 cuddle chairs and a 3 seater in that space. I'd sell what you have and buy furniture of a more suitable size.

I'd make it into a dining room instead, that's what we've done. It was a playroom when the DCs were little.

Another idea would be to knock through into the garage to create a larger space.

Too small a space for that size furniture.

We converted one in a house we used to own, and made it a dining room.

Thanks for the replies! The layout of our house means it needs to be a stand alone room. We already have a conservatory for a playroom and couldn't have that as the living room (south facing so very very hot!). The kitchen we are knocking through into the dining room part of what is our current living room. Our current living room has the stairs coming out of the middle of it so we want a room we can shut ourselves away from the children when they are in bed and we want the telly on.

That's a good idea to sit ourselves 2.5m from the telly and see how it feels.

We can't afford new furniture and the building work at the same time but it's something we can look into.

We are wondering where to put the TV cabling and I'm not sure where would work best?
