Moving to a new city during a pandemic?

Hi,
I posted this in chat earlier, but thought I'd try here too. The question is basically about making new friends in a new area during these covid times - have any of you moved during the pandemic and how are you finding making friends?
The context for me is moving out of London to the outskirts of a smaller city with DH and 2 DC ages 10 and 12. We'd be moving for more space, less crime and to be nearer family. I'm worried about mine and the kids friendships.

@Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket
We're moving (hopefully) out of London for same reasons. DC nearly 11 and 8. Hoping to move early 2021. Did you move yet? How are you finding it? Am worried about nearly 11 year old pining for old friends and finding it hard to make new ones during covid, but I think long term it will work out for us.

Hi,
The house move fell through so we are still in London. We'll be looking again in the new year

All best of luck. It's not easy.
