Howdens Super Matt Kitchen

We are looking at a new kitchen and considering the ranges from Howdens that are Super Matt (e.g. Hockley Super Matt, Clerkenwell and Greenwich). We are concerned around fingerprints and other potential issues (Hockley states it has anti fingerprint technology). Has anyone used them? How do they fare with use (we have a young child). Thanks

Greenwich are melamine faced chipboard, a bit thin and cheap looking IMO as you can see the edging but it is basically plastic so quite hard wearing. We have this kitchen and its only got one damaged corner on the dishwasher door. The Hockley range is a thicker heavier MDF door with allegedly a seamless plastic coating so it will feel better quality but you should look carefully at them in the showroom.

Don’t do it. It is high maintenance and a screaming nightmare to keep clean. The light colours mask the fingerprint smudges to a degree but the dark colours will make you want to burn the kitchen to the ground. 4 weeks after install and spending £20K on the hockley super Matt I am at the end of my sanity. It’s looks grubby no matter how often I clean it , it streaks, I added handles but it’s difficult to clean around the handles to get rid of the smudges from everyday use. Friends and family comment on the marks.
Biggest regret was choosing Howdens as they hide behind their trade only business model. To say you have no consumer rights. I’m compiling my complaint for trading standards
