Backlit Illuminated Bathroom Mirrors

Hi Everyone. Need to order my new bathroom mirror. Thinking maybe getting a mirror with lights that is known as a backlit mirror rather than one that emits light from the front. Can’t bear bright lights. Think this will be a much softer, relaxing option, and very useful during the night when just a gentle light will be needed. I realise this light will not be good for putting make up on I can do that elsewhere. Any thoughts anyone?

I've got this - I love it so much. You're right, it's softer and more relaxing, and I often don't bother with the main light.

There are two ways to do it - buy a full unit that has the lights integrated, or get a plain mirror fitted to batons and have LED strip stuck behind it. We didn't find a lot of difference in price (more labour on the baton version, though materials are cheaper), but if you choose batons, you have more choice of size. We've got both methods in different locations in our house, they're both great.

You will need to have an electrical supply installed close by it But perhaps you have one already.

Hi. Do you think it would a backlit mirror would provide enough light for the evening brushing teeth etc rather than using the main light?

Definately works for me... and the middle of the night pee - doesn't blind you!
